CommentsHello 2006... all of the 2005 entries have been archived to Log 2005. May this year be kind to you all.
CommentsHard to believe I'm approaching 38 years since TET of 68. Hope all goes well this year for each of us.
CommentsHello to all. It's really an honor to have been a part of you. I pray that all of you are prospering.
CommentsLooking for Jeff Huggins.
CommentsIs there any way to find where a bouts of Taipan buds....
CommentsHey to all of my old brothers from the 135th. This website is one of the greatest things I've seen on the net. All of the awards and recognition are well deserved. We all did our year in country, and I'm sure you're all like me in that it was the most memorable year in your life. Fortunately, the human body is remarkable about forgeting pain and remembering pleasure - like comradery. We all helped each other live through a year of hell, and for that I am one very proud man. For all the Emu's I coverd, and Taipan's I flew with, I sure hope most of you are still around. Otherwise, I wasted all those 17 pounders making a lot of puffed rice covering your ass. God blessed us for a year back then, so if you are still around, you are truly blessed for all of your accomplishments in life - including Nam.
CommentsHello Everyone, We are finally back online with a new E-mail address. Unfortunately we have not been able to retrieve our address book so we will have to start all over again. Looking forward to getting mail from all our friends so we can get back in touch. Bob and Margie Clark
CommentsJust wanted to say hi, Bob Kyle joined RAN same time as me. Great job you blokes did.
CommentsHas it really been 38 years since the Tet Offensive? I remember some of those days like they were yesterday! Let us not forget the good men who are listed on the Memorial we dedicated last May at Ft Rucker. Heartfelt condolences to their families. It was great to meet some of you last year at the reunion. Thanks again to Fred and Tom for a job well done.

CommentsI am surprised there is site for the 135th: In the early days we were known as the brand "X" company! I remember many names and enjoyed the Taipan scrap book. My last flight was when I filled in as crew chief on # 66-15126. I am happy that Harvy missed out on that experience!

CommentsHello Emus and Taipans, I just got off the phone with Bill Bandy from Moretown, VT. I think he was the first platoon flight Sgt at Bearcat. He's looking for some help locating one of the unit books. He wants to get in touch with other crew members the day he was shot down on a ash and trach mission. His number is 802-223-3458. He does not use a computer but will be going to a local library soon to get on the net and locate people. Hope you are all in good health. "Get the Bloody Job Done" Peace, Buzz z zz z zz z z z z

CommentsI don't know how often everyone views this log but I am hoping to meet up with people who may have served with my father and who knew him. I attended the reunion/memorial last year and met some of you and I thank you for welcoming me into the 135th family. I am also trying to find a Mike Conley. He was my father's roommate and also did a really great thing for my mom and I would like to personally thank him. So if anyone has been in contact with Mike if they could please forward my info to him I would really appreciate it. I would also love to hear from anyone who know my father.
CommentsHave visited "our" website many times, but today was the first time in awhile. Just a word of thanks to those who developed and maintain this site. What a superb job! Please accept my personal thanks for the job that you do. Your work is of tremendous value to many people. Keep it up.

We have placed my dad in the veterans home in Floresville, TX and I'm still watching over him and his affairs as I try to grow a business thru Usana Health sciences referring pharmaceutical nutritional supplements. CommentsGreat site, gives me some insight in to what my brother, and you guys, did and who he served with. My deepest gratitude to all of you who served especially those who served along side my brother, Bill Baker, who was also a 135th slick pilot(70-71 listed in your Ace page) A special thanks to those that went in after him and his crew the times they went down. Thanks for bring him home. Hope one day to meet or talk to anyone that was a crew member of his. Thinking of all who served--- Dennis Baker (former Sgt. U.S. Army)
CommentsI just got back from visiting the Philadelphia Viet Nam Memorial. I try to go before sunrise every Memorial Day. Its quiet and peaceful then. A guy who lived 200 foot from my house and another guy from my grade school is on the wall. My brothers best friend came home with a plate in his head. My brother humped a M60 thru the bush in 67 and came back a changed man. I was the only lucky one, the only draftee of the 4 ,only having to serve 8 months in country and to this day never consider myself a true vet. I am still playing with wires [electrician] and have a great wife . Every year Memorial Day becomes more of shopping day. I hope the younger generation never have to go to war but while celebrating this Holiday keep all servicemen and women in their prayers. I would like to thank the first sergeant for letting me stay until about the tenth guy left during the stand down. This let me get out 11 months early and go back working along side my dad in the electrical field. Thanks for the Warrant officer in charge of the commo unit for my first Huey ride. Just wish you would have brought along at least 1 weapon. When I asked about this [after you did a sharp turn and had my fat butt sliding towards the open door] you said don't worry we have a box of grenades. Yea all smoke grenades.
CommentsLifelong friend of Bill Hysmith. Love this site.
CommentsCould you please give me the name of your Secretary of your Association.
Comments"Soldier Boy"...You've disappeared from my life once again & I don't know what more to do. It's been devastating but I know you have your reasons. I've lived here my entire life but it looks like I may be moving out of state, ironically near to a place where you wrote to me long ago. I will keep hope that I will see you or hear from you again. You're in my heart & my prayers & ever will be until a time when we can be together as we should have been a lifetime ago. Happy Birthday from the girl who has another pretty new coat just like the first one. Be safe, be well, be happy. I love you. S.W.A.K.
CommentsJust surfin the net and happened to find you guys. I'm single living in Tacoma Washington. Working For Wal Mart at present. Nice to find you guys, Bob

CommentsI was one of the ATC controllers attached to the 135th, fought with the red haired/bearded major all the time (never met him on the air field, but did at the pub that the Aussies had on their side of the base), he wouldn't listen to my instructions/never did.
CommentsA visit to this site never fails to stir the emotions...Damn, but life is short, in fact we're all yelling S H O R T now...
CommentsI have had contact with Richard LaRose 135AHC who was with me at Dian. 135th and 187th combined recourses in Crash. I had a head injury fighting a fire a few years ago and lost a lot of memory. What can you guys tell me about him. I have a few pictures of Dian (ammo dump going boom, and a few crashes) I flew with Capt Lattiser in My Tho when I was with the 361st. Got my air medal too! Hi to Mel Goss and Barney Barnier, my Aussie buddies. Let me know what you can, thanks.
CommentsHi once again. I am looking for any 135th members who were on the convoy from Bearcat to Dong Tam in September 1970. I am especially wanting photos and memories of the trip and if any of the ill fated lost trip through My Tho before we eventually arrived at Don Tam through Ambush Alley whilst the other following convoy who passed us got hit there. Any thing will be appreciated. Dave Benge.
CommentsHi one and all. I am looking for information and especially photos from those 135th personnel of the relocation convoy between Bear Cat and Dong Tam September 1970. I was hoping that there were some of us who still have a decent recollection of the ambush at the side road between Rt4 and Dong Tam of the convoy who passed us whilst we were "lost" at My Tho. Ron Speers the wrecker driver last heard of as of Odessa, TX get in touch. Any thing will be appreciated. Cheers Dave Benge.
CommentsI think that your information posted is great. It has been a joy seeing the pictures of all of the guys after so many years. It brought back so many memories. You can look forward to hearing from me again in the future.
CommentsIT'S BEEN AWHILE
CommentsI was quite pleased to see that the 135 had a web page anyone know about Ronny Briant from Polock Louisiana.
CommentsGreat job on site. Any Pathfinders please contact.
CommentsAs I said, and I say it again: Bloody wild black hearts run red the Delta. I do recall how it was almost impossible to say those words after knocking back a share of VB or DA (yech!). You fools!

CommentsWe had a navy photographers reunion in Canberra last week, & visited the photographic archive section at the Australian War Memorial. What a blast!....all those photos, long forgotten, that I had taken of our time in VN, building the camp at Blackhorse, many photos, & most without names & dates...I spent a few hours putting names to faces so that in a hundred years your relatives will find you... Eventually all this stuff will be online... Am still chuckling over Pony Moore, sitting in the watchtower, draped with 50cal belts, doing a Rambo look-a-like.
CommentsI HAVE LOST ALL PHOTO'S AND MOVIES DO TO A HOUSE FIRE, BUT THE PICTURES ARE STILL IN MY MINE. JUST WISHED I COULD SHARE THEM WITH YOU. I AM SO GLADE TO SEE THIS WEB SITE NOW ALL CAN SEE THE HELL WE FLEW IN AND OUT OF. WILL PRAY FOR ALL, GOD BLESS.
CommentsIt was good to see the effort to capture the 135th history.
CommentsI liked your site.
CommentsThis is a fantastic Web Page!!! I looked up your unit because my best friend was a crew chief for your unit. His name is Steve Wiseman and he was a Taipan. I was a grunt squad leader with Delta Co. 4th Bn. 31st Inf., 2nd Squad, 2nd Plt., of the 196th Light Infantry Brigade from the end of 1967 to Dec. 1968. Welcome Home to you guys, both American and Aissies.
