Hello,
Ian Wilson, an Emu, just dropped me a note, so I got to looking at your website.
Some of you might remember me from my time in Australia, where I released the
first to editions of my book, Permission to Kill. If any of you are interested
in my combat assault helicopter door gunner experience on the smokeship,
Pollution IV as part of the 118th AHC, you can find my works on my site,
www.brianwizard.com. I recommend the photo book, Smokeships Always Leading the
Way, and my award-winning DVD. It’s pretty good.

I’ve love to hear from any of you I met along the way. I hope are all making the
most of what you have, and thanks for your service.

Brian “Wizard” Willard

Gentlemen,
I am trying to find out about one of your brothers, John Piper, as I’ve lost
touch with him for many years now. We were high school sweethearts a long, long
time ago. If any of you are in communication with John & can tell me how he’s
doing, I would be deeply grateful for your help. Please contact me at my email
address. Thank you from the bottom of my heart & may God bless each & every one
of you always. Most Sincerely, June M. Adams

G’day everyone, just wanted to say thanks to Bill H for
the wonderful job of hosting this web site. It’s great.

Also wanted to let the folks know that the RAN is recognizing LACM Noel Shipp
who was killed in action May 1969 by naming their Naval Recruit School after him
on August 28, 2013. I have the honor of attending on behalf of the US Army and
am looking forward to the dedication ceremony.

Does anyone remember a Captain John Smith ( Jan-Feb 1969)? He was my roommate
then and I lost track of him and a Chief Warrant Officer “Sandy” Sanders who was
a logistical officer> Any help finding them would be appreciated.

I am having a great life married to an Aussie lady and living in Newcastle.

Cheers, EMU 1.

I was an original member of the 135th arriving at Gray Airfield in February
1967 and going to Vung Tau in October of 1967. I was a crew chief on a slick.
In November 1967 I was infused to the 190th AHC at Bien Hoa where I worked in
maintenance until becoming the Horse crew chief (Maintenance Ship) in the spring
of 1968 and rotated back to the states in September 1968 and spent the last 11
months of my career with the 182nd AHC out of Ft Bragg, NC.
I just returned from a great 190th reunion in Carlisle, PA where I was
reacquainted with Dennis Heflin, a former 135th crew chief, who was infused to
the 190th with me. Please add me to you roster and notify me of any upcoming
reunions.
Have you heard from Bill Vogt or Steve Roccabello?

I’ll be in San Antonio, TX during the VHCMA gathering this next June, 2014
between the 18th and 22nd of the month. All three helicopter books will be
available at a deep discount: “U.S. Army Helicopter Names In Vietnam”, “Vietnam
War Helicopter Art” and “Vietnam War Helicopter Art, Vol 2”.

Also, I’ll share what info I have on surviving VN War Army helicopters (approx
1,000) that are presently on display in public museums, military bases and
memorial parks across the 50 states. I’ve compiled a database list which you can
view and luckily can help identify your old in-country bird. Hope to see you
there.
