Hello EMU folks . As another Memorial day nears I think back of the good days that I had in Di An with the 135th AHC . I am one of the luckiest draftees of that time having spent my basic training and my MOS at nearby Fort Dix where I was home every weekend and still married to my high school sweet heart. I went to the best technical high school in our area for Electricity then got paid by uncle Sam to go not only go to field wireman school but got to play with wires in Nam . Still an electrician playing with wires . My older brother humped a M60 in the bush for a year . One of the guys a block away gave came home in a coffin, 2 others wounded and yet while I think I was the only draftee in the bunch . I always felt like a civilian never had to fire a weapon , working in a great company and doing a job that I loved .Hopefully I will visit the Korean and Viet Nam Memorials in Philly then go to my brothers high school Memorial Day event . This high school had 29 young men give up their lives in Viet Nam . Thank you First SGT Charlie Mun for letting me be one of the last guys to stand down so I was discharged early . Charlie I got back to work as soon as I came home and only missed a few days of work the last 44 years. a lucky man.
