2018 ANZAC Day Memorial Ceremony

Once again the Senior Australian Army Representative assigned to Fort Rucker, Alabama has extended an invitation to all former members, families and friends of the 135th AHC (EMU) to attend the April 25 (Wed.) ANZAC Remembrance Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park in front of the 135th AHC (EMU) Memorial Monument. (As a refresher, ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the first campaign that led to major casualties for Australian and New Zealand forces at the Battle of Gallipoli during the First World War. The acronym ANZAC stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corps, whose soldiers were known as ANZACS and the pride they took in that name continues to this day.)

Additionally, a Sydney, Australia journalist working on a documentary to be aired on “Foxtel TV” next year about the relationship between Australia and the U.S.A. during the Vietnam War, would like to film this year’s ceremony. The documentary explores the last 100 years of Australian military history.
